Dan McFall

Full Stride's owner and head instructor. Dan grew up in Buffalo, NY skating on the rink his father managed. At the age of 14 he began playing Junior hockey with the Buffalo Jr. Sabers. After playing with them for 3 years, he went off to play Division I college hockey with the Michigan State Spartans in 1981. In '82 and '83 he played for Team U.S.A. in the World Junior Championships in Minnesota and Lenningrad.

In the '84 season at Michigan State, Dan set the school record for most goals as a defenseman with 14. He finished his career at Michigan State with All-American honors in his last two seasons, and went on to play as a professional in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets.

Off of the ice Dan spends much of his time sailing on Lake Champlain and learning to play the guitar.

John Forbes

Grew up loving the game of hockey as a kid playing for Clinton, NY (voted Kraft Hockeyville 2018). After two years playing for Berkshire Prep School, John returned home to play hockey at Hamilton College. His love of the game would not end after college. John has coached prep school Hockey for Vermont Academy and at the Portledge School, assisted our own Dan McFall coaching the Burlington High School team, and coached in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League on Long Island. John has been fortunate to coach many players who have gone on to play college, and some even to the NHL!

Allison Lowry

Growing up in the deep south, she knew nothing about hockey when she arrived in Vermont. At the suggestion of a friend, she enrolled in Full Stride's Learn To Play Hockey Program and was hooked. Her love of the game grew with each program she took, and with some persistence, eventually landed the coach! Allison has hung up her skates for a while to start a photography business and become Full Stride's art department. One of these days, you might see her on the ice again.

Geoff Stirling

Is Canadian. In Canada there are only two things to do, play hockey and think about playing hockey. Originally born in North Bay, Ontario, Geoff's family relocated to Montreal.

Montreal being the hotbed for hockey that it is, he didn't have to look very far to get on a team. Geoff grew up playing hockey on a number of different teams in a number of different leagues. None of which were highly competitive, but he played simply for the love of the game.

In 1997, Geoff moved to Burlington and quickly became involved with Full Stride. First as a player, then as an instructor and referee. He's now working behind the scenes as Full Stride's software developer. Off of the ice, Geoff dabbles around in photography and in the kitchen. Geoff can also speak French.
