Adult instructional hockey league
The Instructional Hockey League, or IHL, is for beginner hockey players who want to continue to work on their skills. It is also the next step for those who recently participated in the Adult Learn to Play Hockey Program. In the IHL, participants will continue to advance their skating, puck control, passing, shooting, and team-play skills. Team systems such as break outs, defensive zone play, and neutral zone regrouping will be introduced. By the conclusion of the IHL, players will be ready to enter our adult leagues at the D4 level, Full Stride's novice division.
The class will be divided up into two teams. Each week the IHL alternates between practices and controlled scrimmages. One week will be a practice working on skill development. The following week will be a controlled scrimmage. Dan and Pete will control the scrimmages and stop play when teaching points arise. New D4 teams are often formed with players from the IHL.
